NBSIR and NISTIR

The IR publications series has variously stood for "Interagency Report," "Internal Report" or "Interim Report," and was issued by the National Bureau of Standards (NBS) or the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). The series includes interim or final reports on work performed by NBS/NIST for outside sponsors (both government and nongovernment). These may also report results of NBS/NIST projects of transitory or limited interest, including those that will be published subsequently in more comprehensive form.
